The ask
Monkey Fries was developed as a brand communication project for a cloud-kitchen fries brand under BigSpoon's food portfolio. The brand needed a stronger visual personality across food delivery platforms, packaging, and social media — not just a logo, but a complete system that felt fun, youthful, and memorable.
Audience
Young, casual food-delivery audiences browsing fast-scrolling apps and social feeds.
Format
Logo system, mascot, flavour identity, packaging direction, social media posts, pattern system, brand applications
Core skills
Brand identity, visual communication, mascot design, packaging, social media, food branding, campaign design
Goals
- •Make the brand more recognizable in a crowded fast-food space
- •Create a playful, youthful, mischievous tone of voice
- •Build a mascot that carries humor and attitude
- •Show flavour variety through color and character changes
- •Create entertaining social media content and scalable packaging direction
Outcome snapshot
A quirky, mischievous, and scalable brand system that turns Monkey Fries into a character-led food brand with stronger recall, clearer flavour differentiation, and a more engaging social media presence.
2)Project Context & Purpose
The purpose was to build a complete communication system for a cloud-kitchen fries brand. Since fries are casual and shareable, the brand needed to feel energetic and playful rather than generic.

3)Brand Problem & Communication Goal
Monkey Fries needed to stand out in a crowded fast-food and cloud-kitchen space where many brands rely on similar food photography, basic offers, and inconsistent visuals.
Communication goal
Make the brand feel mischievous, quirky, and craving-driven. Instead of presenting fries as just another snack, the system turns Monkey Fries into a character-led food experience.
4)Research, Strategy & Brand Personality
Since the target audience was young and casual, the brand needed to feel bold, humorous, and easy to connect with. The final direction was shaped around two key words: quirky and mischievous.
Strategic idea
The monkey mascot became the main storytelling device because it naturally communicates hunger, humor, and playfulness. Cravings with character.

5)Identity System & Logo Exploration
The identity process included multiple lockup and logotype explorations — monkey mascot, wordmark, type styles, color options, and layouts readable across delivery apps, packaging stickers, Instagram profiles, and menu listings.
Final identity system
- •Monkey mascot as the primary character
- •Logo lockups with mascot and wordmark — horizontal and compact arrangements
- •Color variations for flavour communication
- •Playful typographic treatment and pattern possibilities

6)Mascot, Flavour System & Visual Language
Instead of one static character, we explored different mascot colors, expressions, and accessories for different fries flavours.
Flavour system
- •Exotic Fries, Mexican Fries, Non-Veg Fries
- •Hot & Spicy Fries, Cheesy Fries, Desi Fries
- •Accessories like sunglasses, expression changes, and sauce/drip details
- •Distinct visual treatment per flavour for packaging, campaigns, and social media

7)Social Media, Patterns & Brand Applications
A major part of the project was creating a social media communication system — Bollywood-inspired posts, promotional offers, collaboration posts, flavour launches, and Instagram feed mockups.
Key applications
- •Instagram post system and feed mockup
- •Pop-culture inspired and promotional campaign posts
- •Flavour-based graphics and collaboration post concepts
- •Logo and mascot patterns for packaging sleeves, stickers, and backgrounds
- •Food photography moodboard and packaging direction

8)Outcome & Reflection
The final outcome was a playful and scalable brand communication system — mascot-led identity, bold color exploration, flavour-based graphics, social media templates, and brand applications.
Reflection
This project helped me understand that a brand system needs to work beyond a logo. The strongest part is the mascot system because it gives Monkey Fries a memorable personality and allows the brand to speak, react, promote, and entertain across different platforms.
